Le Symposium fiscal africain, un événement annuel, aura lieu cette année du 4 au 6 mai prochain en Ouganda. La manifestation rassemblera des professionnels de la fiscalité à travers tout le continent. Selon ses organisateurs, le Symposium a pour objectif d’analyser les questions fiscales les plus «pertinentes» du moment et les placer dans le contexte africain. «Cela se reflète dans le thème caractéristique de l’évènement : tendances en matière de fiscalité internationale : une perspective africaine», indique les organisateurs. Se basant sur le «succès» du Symposium inaugural, l’événement de cette année concernera les questions fiscales actuelles majeures, telles que le paysage post-BEPS, la planification fiscale agressive, les prix de transfert et les défis impactant les industries et les transactions particulières. «Ces sujets seront traités par une riche sélection d’experts fiscaux de renom.
Le Symposium présente une large gamme de conférenciers issus de la pratique, l’industrie, les autorités et les universités de la fiscalité», font valoir les organisateurs. Rappelons que le Symposium fiscal africain est une initiative du Centre for Studies in African Taxation (CSAT), un groupe de réflexion consacré à l’étude et au développement de la fiscalité africaine. «Grâce au Symposium, le CSAT vise à contribuer à une connaissance plus profonde et plus analytique de la fiscalité internationale à travers le continent. Le CSAT parraine également la recherche dans les domaines de la politique fiscale concernant certains secteurs particuliers en Afrique», soulignent les initiateurs du Symposium fiscal. L’une des façons d’y arriver est de distribuer des «bourses d’études CSAT», grâce auxquelles des chercheurs qualifiés reçoivent un parrainage pour des travaux de recherche «pertinents».

- 2nd IBFD Africa Tax Symposium, Entebbe (Uganda), 4-6 May 2016
- Following last year’s sell-out 1st IBFD Africa Tax Symposium, this year’s event will continue to focus on essential topics, including the post-BEPS landscape, aggressive tax planning and transfer pricing.
These topics will be brought to life by key speakers from practice, industry and academia, as well as by IBFD’s own tax experts on Africa. The sessions will focus on highly practical content, and will be rounded out by perspectives from all over the world. In response to delegate feedback, the programme has been lengthened from two days to three days.
This annual event is an initiative of the IBFD Centre for Studies in African Taxation (CSAT). CSAT is an autonomous think tank devoted to the study and development of African taxation. Its objectives are:
- To study and provide well-researched opinions on taxation in Africa
- To encourage research by Africans for Africa
- To find practical solutions that work within an African context
A key way in which CSAT will achieve these objectives is by sponsoring an annual tax technical conference in Africa. Participants are asked to contribute a nominal fee of USD 150 / EUR 120.
The venue for the Symposium is the luxurious Lake Victoria Serena Resort, a focal point for national, regional, business and political meetings. The resort is ideally located just a 20-minute drive from Entebbe International Airport and the capital city of Kampala.
